The story

A finalist for the BARC Best Practice Bi-Award in 2015, Carolin and her team are always looking for answers to new business questions so they can explore future opportunities. She finds data to be the key to successful business practices, and uses data to spot trends and stay ahead of the competition. For her, being data-driven isn’t necessarily about working differently—it’s about working to keep customers up to speed with real-time, daily updates—just as they’d expect.

The highlights

  1. The ability to fully utilize data allows MTS to keep its customers up to date on the latest information, and stay ahead of the competition.

  2. MTS needs to keep sales teams informed before meeting with customers—with Qlik, they are able to get updated reports everyday.

  3. The ability to access consolidated data on a daily basis—rather than monthly or quarterly—allows MTS to identify trends and react to them quickly.

  4. Search managers previously relied on other teams to pull information for them. Now they can pull data on their own from any region and easily find what they need on a worldwide scale, bypassing previous bottlenecks.

  5. Going from Excel reports to having a range of data combined from different sources, MTS salespeople can now see the whole story in their data.
